contents: Planing lead composition in the printing house of 'N.V. Boekhandel en Drukkerij, formerly E.J. Brill', in Leiden. After the lead composition has been imposed in an imposition frame the compositor taps with a small mallet on a piece of hardwood to level the composition, so that all the lead bars stand at the same height. Then the composition is definitively locked up.
