The almanac of Muses was particularly popular at that time, often, a calendar was not to be found in them. They were nicely designed literary anthologies which were brought out once a year with the same title but in varying bindings. The luxurious annual booklet, Holland, appeared from 1849 to 1866 and was edited by Jacob van Lennep. origineel: source: Holland : almanak voor 1859 / uitg. door J. van Lennep. - Amsterdam, 1859, 1865, titelbladen available in: Koninklijke Bibliotheek, Den Haag 3037 F 17 ©description: Den Haag Koninklijke Bibliotheek ©reproduction: Den Haag Koninklijke Bibliotheek |
