contents: The designer and typographer Jan van Krimpen (1892-1958) privately published a few volumes, until he accommodated his activities in 1920, together with the poets J.C. Bloem, J. Gresshof and J. van Nijlen in a well-designed literary series, by the name of 'Palladium'. Up until 1927, the year in which the last Palladium book was published, 25 books appeared. Van Krimpen always determined the design, and also cut the initial title for almost every book of the series, which was always printed in red, as in "Penthesileia". For the rest, the design of the text is sober: further colours, initials or decorations are lacking, the titles of the poems are set in the same type size as the rest of the text and the same typeface is also used for title page and colophon.
