(fotograaf/photographer) year: ca. 1990 type: dia slide detail: nee related terms: geleerdenbibliotheken lezen period: 17e eeuw classification: J: Bibliotheken en instellingen contents: Among the furniture of the Bibliotheca Thysiana in Leiden is a rare wooden revolving bookcase from the first half of the 17th century, which was probably Thysius's own. By an ingenious construction of wooden cogwheels in the side panels the four rotating shelves always remain in the same horizontal position. origineel: ©description: Dr Jos A A M Biemans, Leiden ©reproduction: Dr Jos A A M Biemans, Leiden |
