contents: Industrial binding with an illustration of a mother reading aloud to her children by a standard lamp. Outside it is growing dark, the curtains are still open as is usual in a typical interior in Holland. The passage must be very exciting judging from the thrilled faces of the children. Being read to and reading by oneself were the major leisure activities of children before the television and computer age. Children are still read to but usually after a long day, in bed, or just before going to sleep.
