contents: In the 13th century, Bartholomeus Anglicus wrote his encyclopaedic work about the properties of things. Around 1470 the first printed Latin edition was published. Bellaert published the Dutch translation with a few beautiful woodcuts. Here the twelve months of the year are depicted. The initial and the border decoration on the text page are fully reminiscent of the manuscripts.
