Experiments were conducted all over Europe in a search for ways to make mechanical blocks (metal relief forms). In the Netherlands, Anthony Binger obtained a patent in 1849 for his 'glyphography'. In this complicated illustration technique a representation was drawn using a needle on a treated copper plate. On this plate, made conductive with graphite, a relief form was then formed in a galvanic bath through precipitation. origineel: ©description: Amsterdam Bibliotheek KVB Universiteitsbibliotheek UVA ©reproduction: Amsterdam Bibliotheek KVB Universiteitsbibliotheek UVA Amsterdam Bibliotheek KVB Universiteitsbibliotheek UVA |
