contents: In 1938 the theme of the week of the book was: 'Have you already bought a book?' The present consisted of three novelettes in one volume by F. Bordewijk, Marie Koenen and Marianne Philips. In the early years of these presents it was not unusual for a few novelettes or poems to be published in one volume, because the selection committee, consisting of members from various religious and political backgrounds could not come to an agreement about the contents to be offered.
