contents: Romeyn de Hooghe (1645-1708), lawyer, politician and engraver, belongs to the major illustrators of the late 17th and early 18th centuries. The engravings he made for this illustrated book were also included in other French and Dutch editions. De Hooghe is considered an important precursor of French 18th-century book illustrations in the chivalrous genre.
