contents: Advertisement at N. Tetterode, type foundry in Amsterdam and also an ` institution for wood engraving, electrotype and stereotype printing'. The wood engraving had entered the Netherlands around 1820. This technique meant an important improvement of the woodcut and made it possible to make a much more detailed and accurate picture. Electrotype was developed in 1837, stereotype was already known by the end of the 18th century.
