Paper machine by N.L. Robert, c. 1800 Bekk, J. (auteur/author) year: 1942 type: illustratie illustration detail: nee related terms: papiermaken papiermachines period: 18e eeuw classification: B: Schriftdragers, inkt contents: This is the precursor of the Fourdrinier machine of the Fourdrinier brothers, invented in 1799 by the Frenchman Nicolas Louis Robert. The mould has been replaced by a wire screen that could be passed around two rollers like a conveyor belt. The pulp was put on the screen and made into paper through this conveyor belt system. In this way sheets of paper were not made, but a continuous reel of paper. This was cut into sheets, which were then pressed and dried. origineel: available in: Koninklijke Bibliotheek, Den Haag 7092 A 27 ©description: Den Haag Koninklijke Bibliotheek ©reproduction: uitgever |
