contents: Articles 4 to 12 in the ordinance for the booksellers' guild in Rotterdam. Article 4 is the usual provision that only citizens of the town may be accepted into the guild. Other matters which are mentioned here are the conditions relating to the length of an apprenticeship, the continuation of the company by the widow of the master after his death and the production of a masterpiece. The masterpiece for both booksellers and bookbinders consisted of, among other things, the binding and layout of a large Bible in folio, with Russian leather and wooden boards.
