contents: An illustration from 1926 with a number of magazines published by A.W. Sijthoff in Leiden. Popular ladies' magazines such as the fashion magazine 'De Gracieuse' which was started in 1863 and 'Het Rijk der Vrouw', dating from 1924 and dedicated to fashion, needlework and literature, appeared to meet a large demand judging by their large print-runs. The illustrated weekly magazine for the living-room, 'Panorama', which was started in 1913 was particularly successful. All these magazines, except Panorama, were printed as well as published by Sijthoff.
