contents: The major raw materials for making (modern) paper are cellulose and mechanical woodpulp, and for hand-made paper, as in former days, rags. Waste paper can also be used as a raw material. The paper mill of Van Gelder en Zonen in Wormer made brown and wrapping paper from it. After the waste paper had been sorted according to colour it was, as can be seen in the picture, ground in `kollergangen': large iron tubs in which grinding stones of basalt turned around.
