contents: The Bibliopolium was established at the Kalverstraat no. 10 in Amsterdam. The art dealer and print publisher Clement de Jonghe had his 'Acclaimed Art and Map Shop' here and he was succeeded in the premises by the Wetstein publishing family. Up until 1832, when the bookseller Johannes Müller established himself here, the building had continuously been in the hands of booksellers and publishers. After Johannes Müller the business was carried on by his son Christiaan. Only when he died in 1883 without offspring did the end come for the 'Bibliopolium' to the regret of intellectual Amsterdam. Just before the business was demolished a drawing and engraving were made of it. The portraits are of Johannes and Christiaan Müller and of members of the staff. On the right is the front office and on the left a later office at the rear.
