contents: The everlasting calendar was `invented' around the year 1200. This made it easier to determine the date of Easter (the first Sunday after the first full moon after the beginning of spring). Many medieval books of hours contained either this kind of calendar for multiple years or an eternal calendar. During the time of the Republic eternal almanacs appeared with engraved turntables or movable strips like this one from the Amsterdam publisher, Hendrick Doncker.
